The Liberty Collection is the private collection of the Liberty Heritage Foundation, which is promoted by the Liberty Group, a Mumbai based conglomerate. Our aim is to develop a world-class collection of artefacts pertaining to the Mughal Empire. We aim to collect a wide array of objects, such as coins, paintings, maps, books, manuscripts, decorative arts, weapons and more.
Our long-term vision includes the establishment of a museum, library, and research center in India to house and study our collection. We envision the creation of an institution that promotes dialogue on a very important chapter in Indian history, via study and research of the objects in our collection and beyond.
We endeavour to create an environment of learning where students, citizens of India and overseas visitors can access the collections, exploring deeper stories behind the Mughal Empire, and its lasting impact on South Asia.
We also aim to support institutions in India and internationally on collaborative projects of exhibition, scholarship and conservation to bring about a deeper appreciation for the Mughal arts.
