Akbar, AE Falus, Salimabad, Ilahi type
Ilahi Type, ‘Allah-u-Akbar’ legend on obverse. Salimabad was the honorific name given to Ajmer. Sheikh Salim Chishti was a revered holy man who lived in the city, after whom Prince Salim (later Emperor Jahangir) was named. He was held in high esteem by the Emperor and thus the city was named after him.
