Humayun, AR Rupee, Luknur, ND
Luknur/Lakhnur: Undated type, Bengal issue. During the Bengal campaign in September-October 1538 A.D., Humayun stayed in Bengal for about 9 months. Ultimately while returning he met his nemesis Sher Shah Suri at the Battle of Chausa where he suffered heavy losses. This ultimately led to his eviction from India. During these nine months, Humayun struck coins in both the Tanka standard and the rare Rupee standard.
