Akbar, AE Dam, Amer, AH 1007

Amer or Ambar was the seat of Man Singh the Kachwahah Rajput raja, a close ally of Akbar and one of his 'Navratnas'. Akbar's wife Mariam-uz-Zamani hailed from Amer. A mint, producing copper dams very similar in style to Ajmer and Chitor mints, operated for a very short time here. Known dates are AH1007 and 1008 and they might have covered a period less than one Gregorian calendar year.
