Muhammad Shah, AR Rupee, Katak, AH 1131, RY Ahd, 'Nasir-al-Din Abu Fath' type
with Laqab (Nasir-al-Din) and the Kunya (Abu'l Fath) added.
The coins of Muhammad Shah containing Kuniyat and laqab are recorded from mints of Burhanpur, Murshidabad, Jahangirnagar, and Katak, issued only in the first year of the reign. These coins were minted during the coronation period because the rupee of the (usual) 'badshah ghazi'-type, and those bearing RY ahd (one), are known now. According to Hodivala, the title "Abu'l Fath" was used until Jamadi II of AH 1134, after which it was changed to "Abu'l Muzaffar." This particular coin from the Katak mint marks the first instance of both Kunya and Laqab being included on the king's coinage.
