This newly discovered coin bears striking similarities to Akbars Bengali issues such as those from Dhaka, Bang and Satgaon. Hence there is no doubt stylistically that this is also an issue from the same region. However, this unique coin bears a yet unknown mint-name, which has been read as ‘Barasat’ - identified with a small town in Bengal by scholars such as the Ashmolean Museum's Dr. Shailendra Bhandare.
