Dually dated AH 1202/3 and RY Ahd, Partial couplet takht/shah-i jahan muhammad bidar bakht (throne/lord of the world, Muhammad Bidar Bakht); The full couplet reads ’Sikka Zad Za Waarith-i-Taj-wa-Takht, Muhammad Jahan Shah Bedar Bakht’. AH date to lower left; floral ornament in exergue / Mint and RY date formulas; trace of mint name visible at top. Coins were struck for Bedar Bakht in the name of Shah Alam II at the mints of Shahjahanabad (Delhi) and an nearby location in North India assigned the name Ahmadabad (not the same as Ahmedabad in Gujarat). In addition, a very small number of coins in the name of Bedar Bakht himself were struck at the same two mints, all exceedingly rare. This coin is an issue of Bedar Bakht in his own right.
