The couplet reads: ‘Sikka Zad Dar Ajmer Shah Din Panah Shahe Nooruddin Jahangir, ibn Akbar Badshah’. Translation: The King, Refuge of the Faith, struck coins in Ajmer, King Nooruddin Jahangir, son of Emperor Akbar. The date corresponds to Jahangir's triumphant entry into the city of Ajmer, en route to the shrine of Khwaja Muin ud-Din Chishti, to offer prayers of thanks to him for the victory over Rana Amar Singh of Mewar.
