Opium Water Vessel (Chuski)

Baluster shape with narrow neck and screw stopper surmounted by a domed, petalled lid with parrot finial, s-shaped spout and a scrolling handle each surmounted by a delicate parrot, double chain with lid for spout and a gently splayed foot Chuskis were used to offer guests wine or opium water. Often seen on Mughal miniatures depicting scenes of everyday life.
