AH 1131 / AD 1719

Shah Jahan II, born Mirza Rafi-ud-Daula, was a Mughal Emperor, ruling for a brief period in 1719. He was the younger brother of Rafi-ud-Darajat and the grandson of Bahadur Shah I. Shah Jahan II's reign was marked by the political chaos and power struggles that characterized the later years of the Mughal Empire.

After the death of Rafi-ud-Darajat, Shah Jahan II ascended to the throne, becoming emperor in June 1719. It was the dying wish of Rafi-ud-Darajat that his older brother be enthroned after him. However, his rule was short-lived and lasted only a few months. During his brief reign, he was largely controlled by the Sayyid Brothers, powerful nobles who held significant influence over the Mughal court, and served as a puppet emperor.

He died of tubercolosis in September 1719.
