Month Farwardin. Persian couplet ‘Farwardin Chun Akhtar’. Jahangir issued a series of coinage where a unique rhyming couplet was inscribed on the coin for every Ilahi month. This coin is the ‘Farwardin’ coin from that series. The coin alternated between a square and round issue each month. The couplet reads: ‘Ba Farwardin Zad Agra Farozan Gasht Chun Akhtar, Ze Noor E Sikka-E-Shahe Jahangir Ibn Shah Akbar. Translation: In Farwardin, the gold of Agra became resplendent like a star by the light of the coin of Shah Jahangir, son of Shah Akbar.
