Names and titles of four Caliphs in margins on obv. Full names and titles of Emperor on Rev. Coins of this type are part of the series in which Alamgir II briefly reinstated the Islamic Kalima as an inscription on coins; a practice abolished by his namesake Alamgir I (Aurangzeb). These coins are generally only known from the mint of Shahjahanabad. Only two pieces – including this coin – are presently known from Murshidabad. The other resides in the collection of Münzkabinett (Bode Museum) in Berlin, Germany.
