‘Shahenshah-e-Oumam’ couplet. Month Isfandarmuz. The couplet includes the name of the month and reads: ‘Dar Isfandarmuz Ein Sikka dar Lahor-e-Zad Bar Zar Shahanshah-e-Oumam Shahe Jahangir Ibn Akbar Shah’. Translation: In Isfandarmuz, the coin at Lahore, struck in gold, the Emperor of Nations, Shah Jahangir, son of Akbar Shah. AH 1019/5. Jahangir issued a series of coinage where a unique rhyming couplet was inscribed on the coin for every Ilahi month. This coin is the ‘Isfandarmuz’ coin from that series. The coin alternated between a square and round issue each month.
