‘Bahman Mah-e-Anwar’ couplet. Month Bahman. The couplet includes the name of the month and reads: Zar Lahore Shud dar mah-e-Bahman chun meh-Anwar, Ba daure Shah Nooruddin Jahangir ibn Shah Akbar. Translation: The money of Lahore in the month of Bahman became like the shining moon, in the reign of Shah Nooruddin Jahangir son of Shah Akbar. AH 1019/5. Jahangir issued a series of coinage where a unique rhyming couplet was inscribed on the coin for every Ilahi month. This coin is the ‘Bahman’ coin from that series.
